Even though we coughed up a few good opportunities (my favorite upon review was Torii Hunter’s double play in the bottom of the 9th after Dirks had clutchly slapped a single to get on base), even though it was cold, even though the fans booed Papa Grande – damn, it was good to be a Tiger.
I attended the game in Detroit, my first since we have signed Miguel Cabrera. I went to many when we weren’t nearly as formidable, so this was a treat.
From the moment the ballpark comes into sight, you get to be a kid again. It’s larger than life. This field that is so carefully shown on television is breathtaking in person. I sat in the upper deck and could see not only all my Tigers doing their thing, I saw the city’s skyline.
An amazing Mother’s Day to spend with my own mom and family.
Did we lose?
……………..not when your at the ol’ ballpark…….and remember to show class like young snarf Tiger fans …..many of our Tigers go to other ballparks and do well like Ryan Rayburn and Brandon Inge..so give them a hand when they return……..and when PaPa Grande steps out…..don’t boo the only man in the Bullpen to have the stones to pick up the ball and deal!
