Dwight Howard not the leader an NBA title contender needs – ESPN.

Dwight Howard not the leader an NBA title contender needs – ESPN.

I disagree with his cold-blooded take completely.

Treating pro sports as an unloyal business is still wrong, even if it’s practiced by greedy owners like Irsay.

The key to a business, LZ, is, in fact, loyalty.

Savvy owners know it’s all about the fans. Fans, the people, respect loyalty. Fans, the followers, provide the revenue.

It’s like we’ve gotten to a cynical standstill – no longer can a good thing work out. Isn’t it possible for a player to be in his prime and choose a city because that’s who he/she wants to win with?

Dwight genuinely likes Orlando. Just like LeBron loves his hometown Cavs. But don’t they have to be met halfway?

Why isn’t the spotlight on Dan Gilbert and Rich DeVos – two inept owners?

THEY HAD YEARS TO BUILD THESE ROOKIES SUPPORTING CASTS AND DIDN’T DO IT – SO YES, LZ, DWIGHT IS TORN ABOUT THIS DECISION.

How could he not know? That’s how – shit’s tough.

While Dwyane Wade sharply addresses the decrepit state of sports loyalty, the concept, as D-Howard, a man of God, knows, is not something to give up on.
