It is easy to have pre-conceived notions; there’s alot of history. However, when the ball is tipped, it can do whatever it wants, and history is history. Therefore, while we expect the best players to always perform, we cannot gauge them every time with the same statistics… Statistics are limited. Previous wins are meaningless. How a player handles a situation is more indicative of the future. Jordan was a freak athletically, but he made that steal on Malone by cleverly sneaking up on him. The mind provides confidence and swagger. Think Derek Jeter. Admitting the game is bigger than you, albeit a concept, is how the game is. Every day and every game are different; let it play out.

Back to LeBron, lol. People don’t understand… sometimes you don’t do a whole lot. That’s your role today. Chasing every opportunity for a point is idiotic to the balance of long term team success, and leaving people out kills chemistry. It is better to do nothing than start to do harm. Be patient, not desperate. Defense is essentially invisible. The Heat were in check when D Wade left the court. They responded to LeBron’s unselfishness and fell in line. The Mavs were JKidd’s team, not Dirks. And he finally had enough players around him to steal a ring.  Sometimes, there is nothing we can do… Your team wins or loses collectively. I’ve done it, too; sometimes your teammates suck and you become Kobe. But you need new ones if you can’t trust them. The Heat now have a proper term to tool up, and they will capitalize.
