So, our Detroit Tigers are on pace to score a record amount of their runs via the home run – but is this necessarily a good thing?

I miss the manufacturing of runs, bunts with guys on base, sacrifice flies with snarfs on 3rd and less than two outs… if we mixed it up more and waited til our Gs were on base to try for the fences, maybe we’d win more!

Brad Ausmus doesn’t seem to care. His body language remains unassertive, often leaving our bad lineup to figure it out on the fly. He always goes after a pussy-foot hit-and-run instead of boldly stealing a base. We need someone to tell us we’re swinging too much; he’s more of a bench/backup coach than anything else. Cameron Maybin is such a logical leadoff hitter, and let Kinsler power-up 2nd. 20 home runs as the #1 guy – think anyone was on base for many of those?

And the bottom of the lineup is fucked right now. Let Jose Iglesias hit 7th! He strikes out less than any of us! And put the catcher 8th and whoever fills in at RF 9th. It’s taking a mental toll on me because it repeats itself so much. We never manned up and fired the manager, so we’re stuck in the tough position of still knowing we’re the best team in the AL Central. Small ball would take us to the World Series, too.

Tonight, against the White Sox, I ask all the fans to focus their energy on what they BELIEVE we can achieve, not just settling for the big swing. Has it gotten us a ring yet?
