Since ’83!

Anibal Sanchez earned his first win of the season, pitching five strong innings. Sanchez struck out three, gave up one earned run, five hits, and three walks. In the fifth inning with the bases loaded, the Red Sox sent one back to him, and he turned the double play at third base to end the inning.

Our bullpen was exceptional, surrendering just one hit and no walks. They have pitched 17 scoreless innings in the first six games of this road trip.

Detroit trailed 1-0 before scoring three runs in the 3rd. Miguel Cabrera singled home Ian Kinsler, then Victor Martinez delivered a home run past the right field wall.

Cabrera sent home Kinsler again in the top of the fifth with a sacrifice fly to right-center. The next inning, a clean single from Alex Avila sent Austin Jackson in to score for a 5-2 lead.

Things got real in the top of the seventh. Out of no where, Torii Hunter ripped one over the Green Monster and out of the ballpark. Please, Hunter: provide us some warning next time!

The Tigers wrapped it up for the 6-2 final, and their third win in three games in Boston.

Next up: To Cleveland. Tomorrow, we play on national television again at 7:00 PM ET. Drew Smyly has the ball.
