Friday: 8-2. Rick Porcello went seven innings, striking out six, walking no one, and giving up four hits. Alex Avila smacked his first home run of the season out of the ball park. Victor went 3-5 with a pair of doubles, and his brother J.D. Martinez brought in the final two Tiger runs.

Saturday: 9-2. Drew Smyly pitched one of his best games as a Tiger. Smyly threw seven innings as well, giving up no runs, two walks, two hits, and striking out six. He exited with a 3-0 edge all courtesy of Nick Castellanos, who knocked in all three runs. In the top of the ninth, the Tigers exploded for six runs, capped by Torii Hunter’s three-run bomb.

Sunday: 9-4. “It just continues.” Justin Verlander had to follow suit, going seven innings. Verlander held a no-no for five innings, finishing with three runs allowed, four hits, four walks, and seven strike outs. Castellanos cranked out another to center field, and Avila knocked another out with one man on. Rajai Davis went 3-6 with two steals and three runs. Torii Hunter hit 3-5 with three RBI’s, giving him an 11-game hitting streak, and Miguel Cabrera is now on a ten-game hitting streak.
