And it was 17-0. Max Scherzer pitched four and some smooth innings, surrendering no runs.

Miguel Cabrera is BACK. Big Cat stormed past centerfield for his second home run of the game, connecting with a smack that left little doubt.

The Tigers knocked in three total homers, the other from new third basemen Nick Castellanos.

Everyone looked good (minus one reliever!) Alex Avila looked patient like he was the second half of last season. Danny Worth knocked two doubles back. Rajai Davis recorded three hits and stole a base. We have a lot of depth, including a 6’6″ snarf who tripled down the line and came up a home run shy of the cycle.

I think we’re ready to win the World Series. They added the closer we lacked and upgraded the bullpen. That will help us in close games this year, plus it will be easier to manufacture runs by sacrificing some power with added speed and defense.

The new manager Brad Ausmus looks good, not overly-excited or animated. He brought in a new first base coach, Omar Vizquel and a new third base coach, Dave Clark. We also have a new hitting coach, Wally Joyner, but he retained Jeff Jones as pitching coach and Gene Lamont as bench coach. I like his style.
