The Wolverines took the lead on a drive by Derrick Walton Jr. and got the final stop to win 72-71 in Nebraska’s new arena. We are the first road team to win in the building.
Walton was the hero, for he also sank a buzzer-beater from beyond half court to end the first half.
Michigan stayed aggressive against Nebraska’s zone, continuing to attack the rim despite over-enthusiastic play from the Cornhuskers at home. All five Wolverine starters scored in double-digits, with Little Big Dog the leader at 19 on 9-12 shooting. As a team, they shot 31-50 (62%), and every starter shot 50% or higher.
…………these guys kept their cool down the stretch and give a tip of the hat to Coach for for guiding them through it……the clock became the enemy of the Gophers and their coach went to pieces……big road win at the Barn.!
indeed! the big ten is tough so we better get going!
