Miguel Cabrera went deep in the first inning to give Max Scherzer and his Detroit Tigers a 2-0 lead.

Cabrera hit another solo shot to up the ante 3-0. He finished 4-4 with another single and a double.

Prince Fielder scored a 4th run, hitting a double and taking home on a wild pitch to make it 4-0.

Three runs crept up on us to give the Rays a shot at 4-3, but Scherzer evaded a runner at second in the bottom of the seventh to complete the inning. 007 only walked one snarf,  gave up four hits, and stuck out nine while throwing 109 pitches.

Fielder hit a two-run smash that hit the walkway at the top of the stadium to life the score to 6-3. Joaquin Beonoit gave up one hit and struck out two to earn the save.

Max Scherzer is the first pitcher since Roger Clemens in 1986 to start a season 12-0 or better.

Tomorrow is game two, with Justin Verlander on the mound.
