Sanchez was scratched from Sunday’s start against the Indians due to shoulder stiffness, MLB.com reports.
Spin: Sanchez’s recent outings gave no indication of an impending injury, as he has posted at least eight strikeouts in six of his seven starts since May 1. In his absence, he will give way to Jose Alvarez, who will take the mound Sunday. According to MLive.com, Sanchez is expected to make his upcoming start next Saturday at Minnesota.
