Put those Cleveland fanatics in their place a little with a two-game series sweep on the road.

After starting the series back 2.5 to the Tribe, we sit just a half game behind.

‘Twas a rainy night in Cleveland.

I woke up late from a nap with the Tigers winning, 6-2. Add three more Tiger runs and Justin Verlander on the hill, things looked shiny.

Then, the game went to

it’s first delay when it was 9-5 Tigers in the 5th. JV pitched the rest of the inning when the game returned.

Cleveland kept it close with two runs in the 6th off Drew Smyly. Luckily, Luke Putkonen settled things down in the 7th with two strikeouts to a perfect inning.

Michael Bourn assisted a Miguel Cabrera two-run home run in the 8th with Andy Dirks on base to ice the cake, 11-7. Bourn had the ball pop out of his glove and over the fence as he looked around, confused.

Joaquin Benoit went 1-2-3 on the Indians in the 8th.

Jose Valverde followed suit in the 9th.

Back home to Detroit for a four game series vs. the Minnesota Twins.
