Back-to-back doubles by Jhonny Peralta and Alex Avila gave them a 2-1 advantage. Torii Hunter ended the inning with another RBI to make it 3-1.
Prince Fielders 9th homer of the young season sent it up to 4-1 Tigers.
Not to be out done, Fielder’s counterpart, Miguel Cabrera, rocketed a three-run blast of his own to create a 7-1 lead that would not be overcome.
Every Tiger in the starting lineup got a hit, including Andy Dirks’ 3rd home run of the year.
