Remember when the Pistons fired Maurice Cheeks? Or don’t you give a fuck about the Pistons, Detroit?

Zero to no outrage was found outside of my dad and I. We thought this was fucking bull shit from the jump. Right after they won their first game under John Loyer, an article was written on ESPN’s Daily Dime (http://espn.go.com/nba/dailydime/_/page/dime-140210/daily-dime) that praised the firing and gave Loyer all the credit for the win.

The Pistons played 42% (21-29) ball under Mo but are just 4-11 under Loyer (27%). He blows. I know the problem isn’t our fans, who aren’t raking in bank under Rick Snyder. But stand up for Cheeks when he gets fired or take what you get under the douche.

Loyer’s ra-ra style doesn’t work as a head coach nor in the pros period. It barely works in college. They’re grown men who know how to play: keep it simple. Post up. Play defense. Share the ball. Shut the fuck up.

Under Cheeks’ .420 winning percentage, we’d sit at 6-9 in that stretch, conservatively, instead. We’re 3.5 back of first place: we’d only be 1.5 back under Mo. Our impatient owner fucked us. Sometimes, you don’t know what you’ve got ’til it’s gone. All of a sudden, a 40% clip doesn’t seem so bad.
