Without Chris Paul, J.J. Redick, or Reggie Bullock, the Clips came together and won at home against the Boston Celtics.

Redick is questionable for tomorrow’s game, and Bullock could be back, too, but without star point guard Paul, the Clips are now 2-1.

The recap shows the Clips started with a 26-10 edge. At the end of one quarter, LA led 32-23.

Before halftime, Boston nearly tied it at 55-56, but Jamal Crawford drew a foul on a three for a 59-55 lead.

I started watching with a six point advantage, 69-63. Boston quickly got an and-one, making the free throw. They scored four points to take their first lead since 10-8. I’m amazed I kept watching, being so fucking superstitious, but this jinx horse rode on.

The Clips took the lead back, and I was rewarded:

Posterizes Humphries

Posterizes Humphries

Blake Griffin posterized Kris Humphries with an AND-ONE, making the free shot!

The Clippers went back up seven, 79-72, and the Celtics took timeout. LA ended the 3rd quarter leading 88-82.

We started the 4th quarter on fire, setting up this score after a deep Crawford three. With another j, he put us up 100-84.

The Celtics rallied and actually put the pressure on us to finish.

First, they cut to eight from 16 with just over three minutes to play. You could feel the pressure, and with time running off the shot clock, Blake hit the shot of the night:

Swish

Swish

He faded away and swished it for a 104-94 lead.

Then, up nine with 37 seconds left, the Celtics scored and got fouled, coming within six.

After a steal and a layup, they cut it to four with 19 seconds left. Fuck.

Up 109-105, Jared Dudley had his pass stolen – but got the foul call. BUT, HE BRICKED BOTH FREE THROWS.

Miraculously, the Celtics drove and missed with some defense from Griffin. The Clippers recovered the ball and brought it home.
