Game 3 was a 1-0 win for the Detroit Tigers to take the series two games to one.

The Tigers loaded the bases in the first inning but couldn’t score.

The White Sox threatened in the 5th. With a runner on second and two outs, the Chicago snarf hit one up the middle, but Jose Iglesias stopped it from going through. The runner was safe at first, but Iglesias saved the run. The next batter walked, loading the bases. Sanchez’s first pitch to Alexei Ramirez rattled the snarf. He stormed out of the batter’s box arguing the strike call. Snarf grounded out to end the inning the next pitch, looking like someone who’d given up.

The game stayed at 0-0 until Omar Infante knocked in Prince Fielder from second base with two outs in the top of the 8th.

SanchezAnibal Sanchez threw 7 and 1/3 innings, leaving the game with runners at first and second.

Jose Veras struck out Paul Konerko looking for the next out.

Southpaw Smyly struck out the lefty Adam Dunn to end the 8th.

Sanchez threw 116 pitches, striking out 10, walking four, and surrendering no runs on five hits.

Joaquin Benoit closed the game, putting the White Sox down 1-2-3 with a final K.
