The Irish intercepted Devin Gardner falling into his own end zone to come close in the 4th quarter, eventually pulling within four.
However, Gardner maintained his composure and punched in a touchdown with 4:18 remaining. He finished with 294 yards, 4 TDs, and 1 INT, with 82 yards and another TD on the ground.
