The Tigers hit some solid dongs in this one. First inning, two on for Prince Fielder: SEE-YA (3-0).

Anibal Sanchez went six innings and didn’t allow a run. He looked sharp, and is returning to form after his shoulder injury. In his first frame, he allowed a Sock to reach third without an out, but impressively held him there while striking out the final two batters.

Austin Jackson also got back on track, hitting one out in the second and finishing 2-5 (4-0).

Torii Hunter said HELLO to the home run derby, too (5-0) in the fifth inning.

Hernan Perez continued to showcase his speed, reaching on his second infield hit of the game in the sixth with the “Don” on base. Alex Avila then drove Kelly home (6-0).

Bruce Rondon let a run through after the initial runner reached on a ball just past Perez’s glove. A double play prevented a bad 7th inning (6-1).

Drew Smyly struck out three Sox in the 8th inning.

Joaquin Benoit was called in to clean up a sloppy Putkonen-Coke 9th inning home run-single combo; but, Benny mopped up the mess (6-2).
