Detroit Tigers‘ top prospect Nick Castellanos continues to mash in Triple-A Toledo and if the club sees a need for an offensive upgrade, the 21-year-old could get the nod.

After a slow start to the season, Castellanos has been ridiculously good to get his season numbers up to .296/.376/.475 with 10 home runs and 24 doubles. His walk rate has soared and he’s cut the strikeouts down significantly.

Castellanos has made a solid transition to the outfield — he’s a natural shortstop that started his pro career at third base — and the Tigers may have use for him in left field this summer. Right now, however, they appear to be riding out at-bats of Avisail GarciaAndy Dirks and, when healthy, Matt Tuiasosopo.
