Tommy Tournament

Tournament Challenge – ESPN’s NCAA Men’s Bracket Game – TheSportingSnarf

It’s March Madness.

We begin this tournament walk-through by informing everyone that Michigan State will be hoisting the trophy. Cool.

I’m comfortable selecting each #1 seed to make the thrifty 32. Syracuse, Michigan State, North Carolina, and Kentucky advance.

The West is ship-shape Spartan sailing to the Final Four, but, it will be a mountain.

Missouri is the West challenger. I’m not going to get too overexcited because they won their tournament. However, they are beating Marquette in the Sweet 16 to Elite 8 it – impressive. Norfolk State, therefore, has 15 seed sorrow. Virginia is an upset special over Florida, because quite frankly, no one is really ever feeling the Gators. Missouri trounces Virginia, too, but falls to Sparty.

Colorado State was a way more heard of name for me than Murray State, so look for an upset there at 11 barrel.

Memphis is another very tough opponent for Sparty. After beating Saint Louis, they will give State a run for their money.

The Lobos obviously make the Sweet 16 after stunning Rick Pitino’s Louisville.

Out East, Cincinnati seems good after beating Syracuse, Georgetown, and a plethora of ranked opponents. So does Vanderbilt, since they won the SEC tournament and beat Kentucky. Respect for Wisconsin, Kansas State, Florida State, Ohio State, and Gonzaga.

Ohio State is taking this region. Florida State, who won the ACC by beating Duke & North Carolina, is too good to lose to Cincinnati. Seminoles stop there, as they are no match for the Buckeyes.

Syracuse, sadly, lost Fab Melo (just 7-feet of Orange-man). Lacking inside dominance, they’ll be lucky just to beat Kansas State and Wisconsin. The Big Ten will be too big for Syracuse, who have back-to-back Big Ten battles, losing to Ohio State after beating the Badgers.

The Big Ten took two coveted Final Four spots, so the other two must disperse: Kansas and Kentucky win.

The defending champion Huskies are quickly forgotten (see: bow out, Iowa State), but the defending cinderella, VCU, is not.

Cute Wichita State just ran into everyone’s tournament nightmare: a vaunted 12th seed. VCU is bit by the Big Ten, next, however, finding the Hoosiers, who, themselves, can’t beat the Wildcats of Kentucky.

Kentucky advances to a second straight Final Four with Baylor’s Bears receiving the brunt end. Baylor’s talented team makes it past the Blue Devils, the Runnin’ Rebels, and the Jack-Rabbits!

Notre Dame was finished off by Duke after lucking out Irish-style vs. the X-Men.

Kentucky loses to Michigan State in the Final Four. Sparty now faces Ohio State AGAIN after they found a way to make Kansas lose.

Kansas must have been sore from beating the Tar Heels in the Elite 8.

Michigan and Purdue partake in Midwest winning as well, meaning 6 teams make it out of the first round out of 6 for the Big Ten.

Creighton, Temple, San Diego State, and Georgetown complete the round of 32.

For Michigan and Georgetown, the Sweet 16 is bittersweet vs. UNC and Kansas, respectively.

We already crowned King Izzo.

Sorry, Ohio State!
