Enjoy the sunset they just walked you off into, world.

After trailing essentially the whole game, down 4-0 after eight innings, Detroit rallied to tie it in the bottom of the 8th. With Chicago’s starter in past 100 pitches, Ian Kinsler was plunked with the bases loaded to bring in the Tigers’ first run.

You’d have thought “Big Cat” would hero home some amazing hit here, but instead, he chased an outside pitch high for a strikeout. Up stepped the hobbled Victor Martinez, who punched a bases clearing double to the wall that TIED THE GAME!

Thanks to Guardians of the Galaxy guiding us to the ninth, Joakim Soria was able to go 1-2-3 en route to the bottom of the inning. That’s when Nick Castellanos, seizing the moment, understanding a home run wins it… struck out for the first out.

This left only one possible superhero: Captain America. Up batted James McCann, who belted a deep fly ball above the left field fence for the game-winning home run!

Tigers fans everywhere cheered and hugged on a gorgeous sunny day in Michigan.
