Take that, White Sox!

The Tigers refused to lose a series yet, returning yesterday’s favor right back to Chicago.

Shane Greene shutdown his opposition once again, going seven smooth innings (and aided by four Tigers double plays). Ian Krol and Angel Nesbitt guided us the rest of the way.

Let’s begin in the bottom of the first, two outs, Ian Kinsler on base. A hobbled V at the plate. Martinez singled to keep the rally alive. Then, J.D. Martinez walked after starting the count 0-2. Yoenis Cespedes stepped up to bat, and also worked a full count. He swung at a pitch just outside the strike zone and crushed it, sending a GRAND SLAM into Comerica’s bleachers.

Rajai Davis singled home “The Can” after he tripled an inning later. Then, Cespedes came back up with Martinez (Victor) on first. He crushed another, belting a two-run homer to a deeper section in left.

We added two more runs in an inning where Miguel Cabrera, V, and Nick Castellanos all crushed doubles. A 9-0 game finished at 9-1 for a two to one series win.

You gotta love the chemistry these kids are displaying. Welcome to Detroit, Cespedes.
