Despite a bad episode of “Krol Show,” the Detroit Tigers rolled through the Cleveland Indians on the road.

Rick Porcello didn’t allow one run in six innings, aided by some timely Tiger glove work. Miguel Cabrera stretched out to finish a double play, going on his tip toes to keep the runner out at first base. It was one of our plays of the year.

The game was scoreless until Victor Martinez annihilated one with Cabrera on base, giving Detroit a 2-0 start. In the later innings, his brother J.D. smashed one, too, with both Victor and Miggy on for a 5-0 lead.

That looked awfully safe the way the game had gone for seven innings. Unfortunately, Krol had a bumpy 8th, allowing four runs to score courtesy of two home runs. Krol is a G, but this situation had a little too much pressure in a later inning for him. Luckily, Joba Chamberlain came in and struck out the final Indian to end the inning. That’s our 8th inning Tiger.

Detroit added an insurance run by the pinch-hitting Rajai Davis. Ian Kinsler rocketed a double over the outfield heads for the RBI, giving every Tiger in the lineup a hit on the evening.

Joe Nathan wasn’t bad, again, earning his second save of the season (so it seems) for a 6-4 Detroit win.
