If you had seen last night’s game, Detroit took a 3-0 lead in the first period, forcing a goalie change from the Predators. Tonight, it was deja vu – our opponent, the Sabres, scored three goals on their first seven shots to force Petr “Griffin” out.

To Mrazek’s credit, he’s evolving faster than he was expected to, and while filling in for both our #1 and #2 goalies, he likely was burnt out. We still thank you, G. Tom McCollum, a first round pick of ours in 2008, got into his second career game.

The Red Wings calling card has been their composure, trailing often this season but never waning. Gustav Nyquist put us on the board a minute into the second period. Drew Miller added another within four minutes, then Tomas Tatar tied it on his 21st of the year.

Detroit went on to score five unanswered goals in all behind new netminder McCollum. Henrik Zetterberg accomplished a one period-hat trick in the third, putting away Buffalo with a 6-4 win at Joe Louis Arena.
