Also, the Detroit Red Wings beat the Wild in Minnesota 3-2. After giving up an early power play goal, we netted one of our own. Then, new Wing David Legwand added another power play score towards the end of the second period on a great pass across the crease.
Jimmy Howard stopped an array of tough shots, showing resilience after Minnesota scored on a penalty shot at the beginning of the third period. He made a great couple of saves right after the score.
Gustav Nyquist stayed hot for Detroit, scoring the go-ahead soon after for the final score. The Wings play the Wild in Detroit again Sunday.
