It was a battle as usual in the Big Ten. Michigan luckily was at home and shooting well.
The Wolverines held an early 16-6 edge, but Purdue took the lead back at 19-18.
Derrick Walton Jr. drove and scored as the clock expired on the first half, putting U of M up 37-29. Purdue hadn’t made a single three.
The Wolverines rolled out of halftime to a double-digit lead, keeping it above eight the rest of the game.
75-66 was the final score. The Boilermakers went 2-14 from downtown vs. 7-13 from Michigan. As a team, the Wolverines shot 61% and held Purdue to 43%.
………………how important are those early road wins…………….if you can do the little things early you wont have to struggle to find them later…..the coaches that can get their teams to eat their ‘vegies’ early find they serve as their own reward……whilst everybody else fights over the last bottle of soy sauce.
