Nashville took advantage of an array of first period penalties on the Red Wings to head into the locker room up a goal. They committed their own penalty, however, at the end of the period.

The Red Wings started the 2nd period with a man advantage and capitalized. “The Mule” scored his 7th goal in the last seven games.
Wings 3, Predators 2
Detroit took their first lead on another goal towards the start of the 2nd. Jordin Tootoo set up Patrick Eaves for his 2nd goal of the season.

Pavel Datsyuk unleashed a slap shot from a decent distance that found the back of the net.

Justin Abdelkader found himself with a wide open shot to seal the win for the Wings.

It’s worth mentioning tremendous goaltending on behalf of Detroit’s Jimmy Howard, per usual. “The Magician” had one play where he saved it to the left, then dove to his right to block another shot.
