The game was pretty close, but the Clippers flirted with a double-digit lead a lot – leading 8 at the end of one and 6 at halftime. They busted it open in the 4th. After all, it was winning time.

Chris Paul led the way with 23 points, 7 assists, and 2 steals with only 1 turnover. He was 7-11 from the floor and 6-6 from the free throw line.

His backup, Eric Bledsoe, came in for 18 minutes and went 7-7. He tallied 15 points, 4 assists, and 6 rebounds.

The Grizzlies just aren’t cool. Zach Randolph fouls like no other. They’re whole Lionel Hollins style is over-aggressive and ugly.

If the refs could stay on Memphis instead of lightening up when the lead reaches 10 or more, maybe Blake Griffin could make it without getting fouled every single play.

Monday is Game Two.

Clippers lead 1-0 (best of seven).
