Welcome, Wizards

TheSportingSnarf is a website dedicated to the enjoyable, humorous, and nuanced aspects of the sporting and (to a lesser extent) pop-culture world.  We attempt to touch upon (in varying degrees of print/video length) engaging topics which are not discussed nearly enough. We’d love for you to give us your perspective, network, and participate regularly. But if you’d just like to join in on the mob-mentality and get all sanctimonious on a particular sports figure — head on over to ESPN.com. (Mickey Mouse welcomes you.) Or you can keep it real with us.

Good Luck, Murray

Often, tennis is overlooked on this site, because, let’s face it: outside of Andy Murray & the Williams sisters, no one has any personality. Is it that weird religion she belongs to, suppressing her emotions ’til they blow on the big stage? She looked so uncharacteristically rattled against Venus, […]

Who Dat Girl?

Ronda Rousey has officially won me over. Her dominance and personality are spectacular, forcing me to finally appreciate properly. First, let’s do the background. Going into this fight, MMA and UFC seemed like a clown sport. And it is very reckless, and most of the athletes (especially the men) do look like clowns in their […]

The Crown Fits

Today in New York City we made history. The United States Women’s Soccer team became the first women’s team to ever be honored with a ticker-tape parade. And damn, did they deserve it. Not only did our girls dominate on the field, going ahead 4-0 and finishing with a 5-2 victory in the World Cup, but they […]

American Women Triumph Germans

It was a 2-0 bloodbath in Montreal. The girls collided heads early on, literally spilling blood on the grass. It was a nasty, penalty-ridden win for the girls in Red, White, and Blue. And it will all be remembered by a missed German penalty kick. For the first time in the 30-year history of Germany […]
