Without all-star Kawhi Leonard, the Clippers banded together to take game five in Utah vs. the top seeded Jazz and go back to LA with a 3-2 series lead. Where they promptly trailed 75-50 at halftime.
I felt broken, like I had nothing left. I sat back and watched the second half with very little hope. Paul George, Reggie Jackson, Terrance Mann, and the rest of LAC apparently still had plenty in the tank. Because they started to TAKE IT TO UTAH, cutting the lead to 20, 15, 10. Eventually, even in a 4th quarter tie, it felt like we led by 100. The momentum and arena energy was tangible, a fitting time for the first full crowd since Covid began.
We held on and finally erased our haunted history. I’m eternally grateful; it is truly our “Cubs moment.” Can’t wait to see what the future holds now that we can finally just relax and play basketball. TY, Clippers. Thank you.
