How can you not feel good watching the Chicago Cubs? I found myself transfixed on the TV in game five, realizing these guys couldn’t leave Wrigley without a win.

It’s been tricky with Cleveland getting undeserved home field advantage. And even though I wanted them out of the remaining teams to win the AL, that racist logo does not evoke the same childlike enthusiasm for baseball I get when I see the Cubs uniforms, fans, and stadium.

So I sincerely wish them the best of luck tonight – after winning game five they’ve really got a chance to force a game seven and potentially win the World Series, just take care of business tonight with superior pitching. It seems to come down to small ball every single time, so don’t let those pesky Indians (see? sounds so bad!) beat you by not going down without a fight. I’ve seen Chicago explode once they handle the early innings, and you’ll see them grow from the first five games.

Watching the 7th inning stretch at Wrigley, I couldn’t even partake in Take Me Out to the Ballgame as tears continuously streamed down my face. The hope that rings eternal in these Cubs fans is everything right with sports, and I hope we all come together tonight (and potentially tomorrow) to bring a great team the distance…
