Too Many Teams to Follow

So, it’s not the Palestine-Israel conflict, but seeing my Tigers on opening day created a log-jam at centerfield with the Pistons on TNT at the same time. (NO, that analogy DOES NOT need to make sense!)

For real though, oldschool & I were on another Justin Verlander ride and our poor pushing for the playoffs Pistons were kind of an after thought, being blown out in Miami.

Today, not only do those two teams play again (albeit Tigers @ 4 and Pistons @ 7 – and the Clippers run it back), but the Red Wings have their most meaningful game of the season vs. Philadelphia, also fighting for their playoff lives.

SO, lessons learned: while watching Detroit in general is OK, not seeing my Pistons in game 78 out of 82 is not as forgivable as these early season baseball contests – background TV.

  • Good Luck Tonight, LAC I’m so sick & tired of settling. Close Elite 8 loss, runner up in so many big games – my poor Clippers, even without Blake Griffin, must make sure they don’t do the same in Utah tonight. The Jazz think they’ll close us out – don’t let it happen. Play rough defense for 4 quarters: [...]
  • Must Stop Repeating the Past Detroit cannot keep repeating the same juvenile habits that have crippled us in seasons past. I’m LOOKING RIGHT AT YOU, BRAD AUSMUS. DO YOUR GODDAMN JOB. Stop depending on spread sheets, matchups, and absurd statistics to make every basic decision for you. You’ve had enough time to acclimate to being manager, and you must find [...]

  • Time to Say Goodbye, Joe Louis Arena Every Red Wings fan had better be tuned in at five o’clock sharp today for the final hockey game ever at Joe Louis Arena, where we have watched the boys hoist four Stanley Cups. • Sadly, Prediction Holds True Granted, that first half of the NBA All-Star game was pretty fun. The East led 52-49 after one quarter, the only time in the history of basketball over 100 points have been scored in a frame. But, by the beginning of the second half, the game had gave way to the Russell Westbrick shitshow for [...]

.I could kick myself….. hard to pay attention to anything else when JV is on the hill, he can throw a no hitter at any time so you have to be ready, but I lost sight of the Pistons and their 8 year climb with all the goings on.
