Our Pistons coach made sure to stop by the polls today before the teams road trip and vote, and it’s clear he takes it seriously.

“I follow politics pretty closely,” Van Gundy said. “Other than the nights that we have played, I’ve caught the debates on both sides. I follow the news daily. Entertained? I don’t know. I don’t really watch political debates to be entertained. In fact, what other people are entertained by I’m probably repulsed by.

“This is serious business. We’ve got serious issues and that’s an unbelievably tough-to-impossible position, being President. I’m different than everybody else. This whole outside movement, to me, I want an insider. I want somebody who knows what the hell’s going on.

“That would be like me, I’ve got to get my back operated on and I say, ‘You know, I want somebody who thinks outside the box. Get me an outsider.’ I don’t want somebody who has actually (never) operated on a back before. It doesn’t even make sense to me. Then again, I come at this differently than most people.

“I think qualifications matter. Serious discussion of issues matter and I want an experienced, informed, serious problem solver. That’s what I’m looking for. I’m not looking to be entertained. There’s a lot of shows on TV I can watch to be entertained. I don’t need any entertaining in the White House. That doesn’t interest me.”

Even though he didn’t directly state it, obviously Drumpf (and in many ways Bernie) are the inexperienced unqualified candidates. Brave stance by an NBA coach on an important night for Michigan. “This whole outside movement, to me, I want an insider. I want somebody who knows what the hell’s going on.” I realized on the way to vote today what a cowards way out it is to just trend with your buddies, young or at work… instead, the real balls come from analyzing the issues on your own and simply selecting the most qualified candidate, real talk. 100.
