What the fuck is good, Cleveland?! LeBron?! Bunch of non-D-playing prima donnas…

Finally, for the first time in several weeks, the Detroit Pistons showed the world, we are, in fact, extremely capable of defending even the game’s best.

The Cavaliers came out trying quite hard, but we held in there and actually pulled away by the end of one. Reggie Jackson caught fire, helping the Pistons outscore Cleveland 33-28.

Then the energy was zapped. Both benches heaved bad shots back-and-forth, resulting in a lot of rest for the starters. Tyronn Lue ain’t shit… and Stan Van just awkwardly played gay-chess. Finally, when the red-hot Jackson returned, the half gave us a seven-point edge.

We picked up right where we left off (in a must-win) to open the 3rd quarter. This was our chance to seal the game: LeBron was deferring to Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, who mostly plucked away on the perimeter.

Our tenacity and pressure were really picking up on defense. The Cavs looked disturbed, turning it over and mostly going 1-on-1. We were in their face, not afraid to get dirty, and it translated to a big lead. But, there was no stoppage in play, and the starters were out there the entire quarter. We’d been driving hard and attacking the paint, and we were visibly tired.

They mounted a 10-0 run sans any action from Van Gundy. James finally started driving to the hoop, and a 17-point advantage shrunk back down to 7 entering the final quarter. (We scored no points the final five minutes of that 3rd.)

Once the Pistons finally rested, we came out banging again. The lead shot right back up to double-digits, where it stayed. We overall were too intense for them, even in their arena. Clearly, Lue was about to give up almost down 20 with six to go.

Now, Stan had left the bench out a while, and once the main Gs returned, they struggled a little to find their rhythm. Jackson passed it out of bounds and we could not score. A 12-0 run cut our lead down to six. Thank God, Jackson delivered a floater down the lane to end the drought.

We held on to take the cake, earning a much needed win. Don’t be too afraid of Cleveland, a fantasy basketball hodge-podge. Which is exactly what I don’t want Detroit to become – we must keep passing, COACHING, and first and foremost, playing defense for a full 48 minutes in order to make the playoffs in the Eastern Conference.
