Detroit clearly felt like making things interesting, so we didn’t show up for three quarters. Then, we balled out to perfection, coming back from down 13 towards the 4th and winning 99-94.

No need to bring us down from the high of a sensationally played finale, but as coach noted, we can still learn in victory. There was a substantial difference in the effort from the first three quarters of basketball compared to the hustle and determination and ultimately defense we showed in the comeback.

Stanley Johnson was the catalyst. He was the only one (a rookie!) playing hard from the get go. While he’s still imperfect, his hustle and energy were never wavering. Meanwhile, the BEAST Andre Drummond plodded up and down the court, albeit unluckily collecting fouls. The refs were quite shitty in Boston.

Brandon Jennings sparked the bench again. He kept us from getting blown out, closing the third within double-digits. Then, he brought us back and started feeding the big men. We tied it on some tough Drummond post moves. He’s unstoppable when he goes hard. And Jennings seems to really inspire the 2nd unit, playing fast and up-tempo to create exciting basketball.

Reggie Jackson was also instrumental in the win. He kept going to the rim and knocking down big jumpers in the 4th, securing our lead. We never led until halfway through the quarter. Jackson should stay assertive for the whole game, he’d be unstoppable.

Our big man Baynes had to play once Andre took a hard fall, and he finished big. Even though they tried to keep a player down on some weak ass screen fouls, he dunked it with authority over some weak ass Celtic to demonstrate his Gness. Great all-around finish in a great comeback win at the Garden.
