Bill Walton: Keeping the Faith

Just when we needed him most, Billy W swoops in for the reply on Twitter!

That final game he would announce, UNLV-Indiana, was a sensational game filled with more anecdotes and Walton wisdoms. Here they are:

  • This is about to be the BEST game. THE BEST FANS.”
  • We’ll probably see the moon cross the sky a couple of times.”
  • Huge drivers of the NCAA economic engine.”
  • “Throw it down big man, throw it down.”

  • “This game today lived up to all my dreams”
  • “1 of the 9 worst plays in the history of UNLV basketball” after a turnover out-of-bounds on an inbound to give Indiana a final chance, Walton climaxes, giving us all the peak of a glorious week of announcing.
  • “What a game. What a day.”
  • Thank you for making me happy.”

We can all learn so much from the broadcasting Bill put forth in Maui. He finished by saying many kind personal facts he’d learned about his fellow Chris Farley-looking announcer over the time they spent together. He’s the real deal, folks.
