Don’t call it a comeback.

For real, don’t. Because by the end of the final frame, Detroit was in complete control of the game. Despite trailing by as much as 18 in the 3rd, the Pistons stormed back to actually lead by double-digits themselves in a 120-103 stomping of Portland.

My dad and I missed most the game, picking it up when we trailed about ten in the 4th quarter. That’s when Stan Van said the D picked up. Wow, was it special to see. We ran all over the court, completely outplaying and hustling the Trail Blazers. Pistons dove for loose balls, made hard fouls, blocked shots – and stayed aggressive on offense.

Reggie Jackson alone caught fire and could not be stopped, scoring 26 in the 4th for 40 on the night. Meanwhile, his counterpart in Portland Damien Lillard looked massively immature, playing a large role for the turnover prone Trail Blazers (11 in the final Q).

Andre Drummond starred again on the glass, sweeping up 27 boards, and also excelled on the offensive end, scoring 29. He’s putting together historic 20-20 stats while still being so young.

Detroit went on a 20-0 run at one point in the final quarter. I still don’t think Portland knows what happened.
