Detroit bombed away for father’s everywhere (especially mine), beating New York 12-4 at Yankee Stadium. Even Andrew Romine partook, hitting one of five Tiger home runs on the day.

J.D. Martinez stole the show, sending three over the left, center, and right field walls, respectively. Detroit struck early with six runs in the first two innings. Victor Martinez hit the 5th homer of the afternoon from the left side of the plate.

Baseball is always an interesting topic for father’s day. It’s a boring game for the impatient, but once it’s properly explained, often by one’s dad (or mom), the game is broken down and enjoyed. Happy Father’s Day to every dad, including mine, that shared the gift of baseball.
