The Cavaliers just handed Golden State their 4th home loss of the year (47-4). And the NBA Finals is officially underway.

Cleveland used Eastern Conference-Style defense to keep the Warriors under 100 points, including overtime.

An early 20-12 deficit forced a David Blatt timeout. LeBron & Co. responded with an 8-0 run that tied the first quarter up by the end. Cleveland carried a small lead into halftime after taking control in the second.

Nobody could buy a bucket to begin the 2nd half. Brick-after-brick was built by both teams until Timofy Mozgov got us going at the free throw line. Questionable MVP choice Steph Curry struggled heavily throughout with “The Scotsman” Dellavedova on him (no idea of his national heritage, but c’mon – he plays like a fiery Scotsman).

Cleveland started to pull away in the low-scoring second half. James’ biggest obstacle is himself. When he’s passing and driving to the hoop, he’s at his best. Only the perimeter can prevent him from properly attacking, like when he dances out by the 3-point line, wasting too much time.

James drained a deep three that put the Cavs up 11 with under five minutes left. It should have sealed the game. Instead, Cleveland stopped attacking the basket and struggled to put up points. Our lead progressively dwindled until Curry was allowed to take it right up to the rim and tie it.

With seven seconds remaining in regulation, James drove to the hole (and probably was fouled) and just missed it. It was too late. Overtime.

Cleveland settled down right away. Better ball movement gave them the early edge. Then, the referees started to go insane. All night long, Golden State hacked, but this was glaring. With his back to the basket, James spun around and was blatantly smacked across both arms on his way up. No call. Moments later on a jump-ball, Draymond Green hopped aboard LeBron’s back, and though James still caught it – Warriors ball.

Less men would have caved. Nothing would go right for Cleveland, and a weak foul for Curry put them down one with only thirtysome seconds on the clock.

That’s when “The Scotsman” swooped in for an errant offensive rebound and was FOULED with ten seconds left. He sank them both. He then D’ed up Curry and forced an airball that James rebounded with four ticks to go. Golden State turned it over to end the thrilling victory by the Cavaliers.
