An electric atmosphere in Grand Rapids, Michigan was a fitting environment for an overtime thriller.

The Griffins came through facing a potential three games to one hole if Utica scored first in OT. Andreas Athanasion put away the final goal for the home crowd five minutes into the extra period.

It was 1-0 us early behind an Xavier Oulette goal. Our new Michigan player Dylan Larkin assisted along with captain Jeff Hoggan. The Comets would go on to take a 2-1 lead later in the second. Grand Rapids tied it in the third period to force overtime, assisted by Athanasion.

Our goalie faced 13 more shots that the Comets netminder, saving 34 on the night. Game five takes place at Van Andel Arena on Sunday, 5:00 PM ET.
