Miguel Cabrera hit two, J.D. Martinez one, and “The Can” also hit an inside the park home run in a 10-7 win in Minnesota.

It was a back-and-forth game. We exchanged runs for two and a half straight innings as follows: 1-0, 1-3, 3-3, 3-7, 7-7.  Shane Greene gave up seven runs for another tough start, lasting just under half the game. The bullpen rallied, however, surrendering no more runs.

Trailing 7-3, the Tigers responded with three homers in the 6th. “Big Cat” launched a solo shot to center, then J.D. crushed one to left. Finally, Can’s hit to the wall was so badly misplayed it scored Nick Castellanos from first and McCann circled the bases to tie the game.

Leading 8-7 in the top of the ninth, Cabrera again found his range beyond center field, crushing it to dead center with Kinsler on base. That lead held with runners at the corners for Joakim Soria’s save.
