The Tigers blanked the visiting Minnesota Twins 4-0 behind David Price.

Our new 007 went 8 and 2/3 innings, backed up by some rock solid Detroit defense.

It’s finally time to watch Jose Iglesias & Ian Kinsler work the middle infield, where they brought the magic in the opener.

It looked effortlessly smooth when the tandem turned their first double play together. Iglesias saved the ninth with an amazing stop for the first out, too.

Our defense was showing itself in left field with new addition Yoenis Cespedes as well. He robbed a third inning home run with supreme extension. Kinsler also frog-legged a sure hit behind second base.

Price was so worthy of the help, striking out five in crucial situations. They never got a man past second base.

Now, it’s time to indulge. Holy shit: what a lineup. Rajai Davis brought the speed at the top, Iglesias at the bottom. They stole three bases in total today. Kinsler knocked in two hits. Cabrera and V only combined for one hit, and it didn’t matter.

J.D. Martinez blasted off the second inning in his very first at bat of 2015, soaring one opposite field above the right field wall. Stunning. Next batter, Cespedes, drilled a double down the line.

That brought up Alex Avila, who cranked one the other way to left field, easily clearing the fences. WOW! 3-0 Tigers, BAMM. Avila looked great, going for another base hit with his beard in midseason form. Our catcher was the calmest as usual.

We worked that lead the whole game, adding one run in the later innings on another extra base hit from Cespedes. He tripled to deep center, nearly committing a homicide as the fielder crumpled against the wall. Nick Castellanos, looking like he added a chest protector under his uniform, hit a sacrifice fly to make it 4-0.

Our best chance to add more insurance fell short with mucho speed on base. Brad Ausmus made a perfect call in the ninth with David Price – not so much here. No outs, Davis and Iglesias on base, and we hit into the double play. Bunt, steal, do anything! BUT BE DECISIVE, AUSMUS.

Price had to exit with two on in the ninth. Enter Joe Nathan (gulp). Nathan slammed the door on Torii Hunter, sending him back to high school on a third strike swinging.

All in all, watching at home with my dad, it was a dream come true on opening day.
