Detroit picked up a huge point in Minnesota just by forcing overtime. That ended in a shootout, where Jimmy Howard was in net.
Howard lasted eight rounds, making some sensational saves. He Supermanned one, and he stopped the first two to give us a chance to win it. Gustav Nyquist slid one through their goalie’s five hole to put us up 1-0. Unfortunately, the Wild did tie it and eventually went up one, but thanks to Riley Sheahan, the penalty shots resumed.
It came down to Darren Helm, who tricked their shit talking goalie for the shootout winner!
