You think that because it’s the Detroit Sports Network and the writers work in the city, they might be in our corner.

More so, you’d think, they wouldn’t turn on you just for the juicy headline or dramatic story. The Red Wings lost in a shootout tonight against the Senators, and you’d have thought someone died.

And sadly, as we know, that is something Babcock has to actually deal with tonight, flying home for his father’s funeral. Yet, there was no consideration for his circumstances from his own journalistic “family” – Team Red Wings.

Babcock only heard negative questions in his postgame interview. Since Ottawa is on a surge of late, it was like our announcers and microphones were nothing but pessimistic. They kept talking about how we didn’t bring it, despite missing several key players and going three lines against four.

They didn’t even tie it until the end of the third period, where those extra skaters wore us down. Petr Mrazek still saved 33 shots, and Gustav Nyquist made a great goal on an assist from Justin Abdelkader.

Babcock ended the interview by silencing the questions, telling them if they were going to be so negative, he’d stop it right there and told them goodnight. IN THEIR FACE.

Chris Osgood shed some truth when he talked vehemently about our picking up a point despite the adversity. He point blank stated the Senators were not going to catch the Red Wings.

I truly apologize on behalf of decent sports writing everywhere for this type of crybaby complaining upon losing. Either be a part of the team or get out.
