Michigan State came back to dominate the second half and cut down the nets.

Tom Izzo outcoached Rick Pitino, holding them to the lowest shooting half by any team in the entire tournament. Pitino looked Calipari-Like on the sideline, clearly flustered once we got back in it. There was no ball movement, just desperation.

For any Wolverine fans, this also avenges the extremely gay loss in the Championship Game. There was one block that should have been a no call, a two-year make up call from Trey Burke.

The Spartans trailed 40-32 after one half, then held the Cardinals to only 30 points in the second and overtime. It was a physical battle, with State losing two big men to fouls. The refs started to keep Louisville in it after a 10-0 run put us up six.

Denzel Valentine and Travis Trice led the way. Valentine overcame foul trouble to play four positions, and Trice was the consummate point guard. There were lots of nerves in the arena, but luckily, also more Spartans (led by Magic Johnson). You could taste the pressure down the stretch. Both teams missed free throws to seal the game in regulation.

We banged out with a big triple to start overtime. Louisville never tied it back up. The play of the game goes to Branden Dawson. After talking shit about his physicality (?) before the game, he showed exactly that on a final possession. Up two under a minute left, he putback a missed jumper to seal it.

There were tears of joy as Michigan State stormed the court. Izzo has won his region seven times, putting him in company with John Wooden, Dean Smith, and Coach K. The players rocked the net around their necks in the postgame conference.

We get to keep playing!
