Karl led the Nuggets to a franchise record 57 wins the same season they traded Carmelo Anthony. The NBA, like any logical person, saw the amazing effort and rewarded him with Coach of the Year.
Denver, however, was the one party unsatisfied. Instead of offering him a lucrative, long-term contract, they… fired him? THE COACH OF THE YEAR. Actually lost his job after doing it better than anyone in the world.
Karl was a proven winner who’d been around since the CBA. He is one of seven coaches with over 1,000 wins in the NBA. His replacement, former Laker fag Brian Shaw, missed the playoffs in his first season as Denver coach for the franchise’s first time in ten years. Nice.
Yesterday, the Nuggets came crashing back to reality when they fired Shaw at 20-39. “He can’t lose a locker room he never had.” How fucking good does Karl (now head coach of the Kings) look now?
…. worked his way up through the old CBA….His Albany Patroons beat my Grand Rapids Hoops way back in the 80’s so not only has he seen it he helped create it.
