An NCAA Champion at UConn and an NBA Champion with your Detroit Pistons, Richard “Rip” Hamilton has officially retired from the game of basketball.

He announced the decision yesterday on ESPN after sitting out last season. He said after giving his body a year to rest, he hurt his foot this past October. He has children, and he looked in the mirror and said, “You know what, I think it’s time to let it go.”

We were just talking about humbling yourself when you have to accept that it’s over. Congratulations to our World Champion Piston on a tremendous career! (Go have fun with those kids.)
