LeBron James was the man for leaving Cleveland, no doubt. He gave them so many seasons to succeed. When he wanted to team up with his friends, his owner berated him like some sort of prisoner.

Everything went so well in Miami. They went to the NBA Finals in each of their four seasons together, winning back-to-back championships. Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh were James’ brothers and Pat Riley the father figure, giving him stability and backing he never had with the Cavs.

After losing to the Spurs in slightly embarrassing fashion last year, the loss seemed to go to James’ head. Furthermore, he took his strength and support from the Heat for granted, becoming obsessed with the idea that he was bigger than the previous problems in Cleveland. He actually left the people who had saved him to return to Hell.

America has fallen in love with it. Despite the decision to leave being correct the first time, he was the villain for no good old-fashioned reason. Blind loyalty overrode complete incompetence. LeBron’s approval rating has never been higher, even though he truly abandoned his friends.

His untouchability has up until now been given to him thanks to his large success. He is able to, while admittedly doing a pretty damn good job, essentially get a free pass for everything he says.

Even myself, was so proud of his actions joining Miami, I rarely make fun of him. But he is really trying to pull a fast one with this Kevin Love thing. It smacks of a newfound smugness, like his “King” moniker, where he can do whatever he wants and treat us how he pleases.

Everyone witnessed the Heat winning the rematch on Christmas. Tonight, Ill be rooting for them again. I love you, but you’re on your own, James.
