The boys of Hockeytown made it two in a row after their 5-2 win Thursday. Detroit trailed 2-0 before rallying with three unanswered goals to beat the New York Rangers.

Jimmy Howard hung tough after two first period goals. The Red Wings turned it up in the second, tying it before the third started. One goal came on a wicked backhand. Tomas Tatar found Darren Helm for the go-ahead where Helm fired a wicked slap shot diagonal across the goalie from the left side (wicked).

From there, it really got fun. We killed three penalties in the final ten minutes. Twice, they came together for 5-on-3’s. “Ultra-aggressive,” as Coach Mike Babcock labeled it in his postgame press conference, was their penalty killing. Howard also saved the day, looking like “The Dominator” in the game’s final minutes.
