“He thought the Rangers’ Rick Nash was in the crease just before teammate Derick Brassard scored the winning goal in New York. Babcock wasn’t saying the goal should have been waved off, but he also saw the Red Wings victimized by similar calls a couple of times this season.

“Two things I don’t understand,” Babcock said. “The other one I don’t understand is the other night we scored in overtime (in Buffalo), where Mule was in the crease, it’s the wrong (call) because establishing yourself in the crease, so anyone got a replay on those phones you got of the goal tonight?

They had an apparent game-winning goal by Henrik Zetterberg waved off in OT Sunday because officials said Johan Franzen was in the crease after having an apparent goal by Pavel Datsyuk waved off late in the third period of an OT loss in Montreal.

“It’s got to be the same all the time, one way or the other. I want the second point or we shouldn’t get one point. I don’t know how it works.”

Babcock wasn’t thrilled to see Datsyuk get a tripping penalty in OT Wednesday, leading to the Rangers’ winning goal, and was also unhappy the Rangers’ Carl Hagein didn’t get called for a double minor after cutting Danny DeKeyser on the cheek with a high stick when the game was tied in the third period.”
