It looked so easy – Detroit sailed through eight David Price innings without allowing a run. Then, a 3-0 lead evaporated in the 9th.

Rajai Davis scored our first run, going from first to second on a hit-and-run, then stealing third base and advancing home on an errant throw to the outfield.

The Tigers were aided by Davis’ defense all night long, getting his spot back in center field. J.D. Martinez also helped Price by elevating and robbing a White Sox home run in left.

We scored our second and third runs after the seventh inning stretch. Ian Kinsler delivered a clutch knock with two on, scoring Andrew Romine. Then, Torii Hunter sent a double off a fan in left, scoring Davis.

Price emerged in the ninth ready to finish his game. Unfortunately, we found ourselves with snarfs on second and third right away, no outs. The next batter struck out. Avisail Garcia screwed us some more in his at-bat, scoring both runs on a single up the middle. Before we could get the final out, he’d score. Joe Nathan had to relieve Price with two outs.

Thankfully, Detroit wasn’t done. Kinsler led off the bottom of the ninth with a chopper over the third baseman’s head. Then, Hunter worked a walk. That brought up Miguel Cabrera. “Big Cat” sent a line drive to the outfield, ending the game on Kinsler’s run.

I’d like to see more snarfs come out and support our Tigers tomorrow. I know it’s cold, but these guys need us and deserve our support after all they’ve accomplished this season. It’d be a shame to give up in September.

For our play, it’d be nice to see us as dialed in as we were in that 9th inning all game tomorrow. That’s how we looked in Kansas City Friday. We watched every pitch, discarding balls and banging strikes. Staying in the moment will make us unbeatable.
